Source of issue –CCE WA PO CWP-01234 / Quote L090321B
Description –
13MAY21: Luke Ellis from CCE WA noted that the steel insert grade supplied was to ASTM A53/A106 GR. B API 5L GR. B PSL – 1 Seamless Carbon Steel Pipe (per the mill certificate), however drawing CD4068 rev1 shows it to be AS/NZS 3679.1 Grade 300.
Immediate action –LS informed Luke that the ASTM grade was a higher grade
Root cause –Oversite on CAA drawing
Corrective action –
Short Term: To allay any concerns LS sent a section of pipe to be chemically analyzed by an independent laboratory, proving the Mill cert was correct.
Long Term: Standard wording in the notes on drawings will be amended to say " Anode insert material to meet relevant Australian/International specifications". This can be amended for particular drawings if requested by customers.
