26AUG22: Jessica from Spectrum emailed photo (above) and the following (O/N 34904, Inv 56410):
"Please find attached images showing how our latest stock order arrived.
The pallet has opened and the contents have spilled out. The freight carrier has had to put it on another pallet.
We are yet to go through it and see what is missing. This was thousand’s of dollars worth of stock. You’d think the packing team could spend a little longer ensuring its adequately secured?"

    Root cause –Freight Company Error.
    Corrective action –

I am sorry that this has occurred but hand on heart our Store people do a fantastic job and process on average 150 – 200 consignments per month of all different shapes and sizes. Last year our team packed and shipped ~ $6.5M worth of anodes so they have a pretty good handle on things. We honestly have very few consignments that are reported as damaged or lost goods during transit. In principal we use all brand new pallets and skids, heavy duty cardboard cartons and poly woven bags along with heavy duty plastic wrapping and strapping or heavy duty packaging tape to secure goods for safe transit. Human error can definitely play a part in every situation so I am no suggesting that your particular consignment was exempt from fault on CAA’s behalf.

We have spoken to our staff and they recall packing your order and are adamant that the shaft anodes that are shown loose in your photos were packed in whit poly woven bags that are for the better part extremely durable for their intended purpose.

I note that the freight was collected from CAA via your nominated freight carrier. A company that CAA do not use and therefore have no knowledge or history of performance as a carrier.

The photos clearly show significant damage to the freight consignment being a board on the skid has been mechanically ripped off the rails and white poly woven bags have been torn open and therefore goods have come loose. I will put my house on this statement to say that there is no way in hell that the consignment was loaded to your transport company’s vehicle in that condition. So may I ask that you take this matter up with your nominated freight company as it is appears extremely obvious that the damage has occurred whilst the consignment was in their care.

Again, I am sorry that your consignment has arrived in that condition but in fairness to the situation, it is your nominated carrier that is answerable for the obvious damage caused by the lack of their due care and not CAA on this occasion.
