Drawing in factory not current

Most current drawing not provided to Production staff.

NOTE: This issue (no. 86) has been transferred from the old CAR system to the new, as new data could no longer be added to the old CARs. During the 24th of July 2014 LRQA Audit, Bob conducted a routine Audit which included checking a drawing against a job that was cast and about to be packed. Bob noted this as a Minor NCR in his report. When reviewing the job, anode type CDA 1500x160x160 it was noted that the drawing that was in use CD2137 Rev 2 in the work shop was not the latest version CD2137 Rev 3 which had different dimensions. Further investigation showed that the dimensions of the anode were within specification, but the dimensions of the steel insert had been revised (slightly extended). Production staff had been verbally informed of this change, but the revised drawing had not been issued to production staff. This issue has been discussed with all relevant staff, training has been undertaken to reduce the likelihood of the issue re-occurring. AS OF 17DEC14: Random spot checks have not revealed any re-occurrence. Same job has just been re-quoted (J161214B). Rev3 of the drawing is specified on the documentation. AS OF 11MAR15: This issue was re-opened, as LRQA auditor Susan Smith deemed that.... "at the time sufficient evidence for preventive action could not be sighted to ensure that hard copy drawings are removed from use once updated with the current version issued for use". The "Document and Record Control" procedure was amended to clearly state that superseded drawings are to be removed from the factory.

Verification –CLOSED: But spot checks to continue + also will check during Audits. RE-CLOSED (10AUG15): Further spot checks revealed that only current drawings were in use on the factory floor.
