Carters Transport – 2 Late Deliveries

    Source of issue –Customer - Orrcon
    Description –

    1 skid + 2 bins collected on the 22/11/18 against Con #’s 179794 & 179795 respectively. (Skid was delivered to Orrcon 22/11/18, bins not delivered till 30/11/18)

    2 bins collected on the 26/11/18 against Con # 179796. (Bins delivered to Orrcon 30/11/2018)

    Mitch has requested POD’s from Carters (Brendan & then Admin team) as Orrcon contacted earlier this week chasing POD’s for Con # 179795. I do not believe that we have yet received the requested POD’s. In any case Orrcon notified delivery of 4 bins against Con #’s 179795 & 179796 am today.

    It goes without saying that Carters have transported product to Orrcon for a continuous long period. It is our understanding that Carters are aware of the requirement for the Orrcon product to be delivered promptly & without delay. 24 – 48 hrs from collection ex Kunda Park can normally be accommodated as we progressively supply throughout each month but for 2 bins not to be delivered for a period of 7 days and the second consignment to take 4 days is not acceptable. Especially with no communication or advice from Carters so that we can manage from our end. Had the 4 bins not been delivered this morning Orrcon would have run out of product over the weekend. We can never permit this to happen.


    Immediate action –We just made the delivery in time. Orrcon very concerned. We assured them that Carters would not cause the same delays again.
    Root cause –21JAN19: Trent Carter informed us that error was due to staff member who did not follow instructions.
    Corrective action –

    06DEC18: Most disappointing because we had similar delivery issues in 2017 with Carters (refer to (CAR)
    21JAN19: Trent Carter informed us that staff member no longer working at Carters and all staff given additional training on requirements. Caters have grown in recent years, and their service has deteriorated. Need to keep an eye on this.
    29SEPP20: Some minor delays, but nothing substantial. Issue can be closed.

    Verification –Keep open until JAN 2020. Any more incidents?
