Anodes Cast Below Weight & Depleting Faster

    Date – March 26, 2026
Source of issue –Customer - Steven Rosskelly (FishCorp)
    Description –

16MAR26: LS spoke to Steven who claimed that our CDZ7-811 were depleting rapidly. Said that ours were lasting apprx 2/3 the time of the Bucek comparison anode. I spoke to him regarding environmental conditions and he advised that he has always fished the same waters and the same way. I asked if he was able to send me some of Bucek’s anodes and some of ours that he had in stock for OES testing. I offered to replace all anodes and cover all costs.
He also raised an issue that he had 4 CAA CDZ7-811 anodes from 1 ctn that were weighed at 920/940/950 & 980grams. This product is advertised for sale at 1.0kg gross weight. He was not overly impressed that he was receiving less than what he paid for. I informed him that multiple anode manufacturing standards make allowance for +/- weight fluctuation as it is a hand poured product and weight is extremely difficult to accurately control. I did agree that he should be receiving an aggregate product weight that was equal to or greater than the advertised weight of the product minus any allowances afforded to CAA under the manufacturing Standards. I advised that I would investigate the light weight product and advise further.
He asked for current pricing for 1500pcs of CDZ7-811. He then made a snide remark about purchasing them from Bucek given his concerns with our product depleting rapidly. I then informed him that Bucek was closing and that was public knowledge to which he confirmed that he had not been informed of such.
23MAR26: (LS) Steven placed and paid for an order for 1500pcs CDZ7-811 on the 23/03/2026. Corrie commenced casting 25/03/2026 and immediately determined that 1.0kg gross weight is nearly impossible to achieve in current mould tooling. Lang to weigh 20-30 pcs pm 25/3/26 to determine new target gross weight and request product drawings and costings to be revised against new net weight. Lang to advise Steven Rosskelly of the findings and any corrective actions. I again followed up with him about Bucek anode samples for OES testing. He has not replied any further in writing nor verbally. Wondering if this is total BS and is trying to get product for free. LS spoke to Ross Gorfine about Steven and Ross has zero time for Steven. Said that he has always been an arrogant and rude customer and Ross said that he would be happy for LS to decline him sales/service.
Note: this same process needs to be undertaken for the CDA-0
