Description –
Steve Watt from OEM Dynamics ordered 20 x CDZ9-063 (inv 41292). Of the 20, 7 were snapped on delivery (see attached photo).
Immediate action –The seven anodes were replaced immediately.
Root cause –Brittle anode material
Corrective action –
The CDZ9-063 anodes are very old stock. They are Martyr anodes, purchased through Trefco in the late 1990's. We have 47 remaining in stock. We have ordered new stock from Metal Distributors (150). We will check these for "brittleness" when they arrive.
We have tried to package these anodes so that they survive in transit. They are very thin (6mm dia) and brittle, which require additional attention during packing. Stores staff are aware of this and will ensure that in future even greater care is taken when packing these anodes.
Verification –We will wait for 12 months to see if problem re-occurs.11OCT18: No re-occurrence.
