Source of issue –Customer: Luxfords
Description –
Luxfords customer returned some CDZ8-18H anodes as they were cracked and bent.
Immediate action –BL sent email (29JUL24) explaining the casting method, liklihood of cracking and bending.
Root cause –Cracking: Nature of anode around spigot recesses. Bending: Not strightend post casting
Corrective action –
1. Emailed explanation to Shane from Luxfords
2. LS discussed cracking and bending with casting staff. Reminding them of importance of straightening post casting.Luxfords gave their customer 2 others that were not cracked. He is going to sell off the other 2 cheaper due to the cracks. He was not happy about it.
28AUG24: Overall sales of the CDZ8-18H have remained stable, but we recently found out from Lincoln Grose that Yacht Grot are now stocking Cheras (competitor) CDZ8-18H. THis may be related to similar issues. Need to discuss with Yacht Grot. Leave open, keep eye on overall sales and dicuss them with customers.
