Source of issue –Customer - Hillary's Boatyard
Description –
CAA received phone call from Jerry at Hillary's Boat & Tackle 13/02/2020 notifying of fitment issues with CAA supplied CDZ9-103.
Lang Semmler investigated and determined the following:
1. CAA catalogue shows CDZ9-103 as genuine part number SidePower Sleipner 61180.
2. Current stock located at CAA supplied by Metal Distributors (MD) shows part number 31180
3. Anode part number re fitment issues confirmed to be 31180 by Jerry at Hillary’s Boat & Tackle.
4. Search of procurement history shows error has been made since about 2016.
5. Approximately 200pcs have been sold across FY19 & FY20
6. First known report of incorrect fitment as at 13/02/2020
Immediate action –Instructed Hillary’s Boat and Tackle to quarantine existing part numbers showing as 31180. All existing stock on site at CAA has been quarantined (Located in Lang’s office) Mitch and David advised of Quarantine action taken. Amend Supplier details (Tecnoseal) and correct re-order part number (01050) in MYOB Inventory Card File
Root cause –Search of MD catalogue and current price list determines that MD do not make the correct part number being 61180
Corrective action –
1. Re-order correct stock from Tecnoseal
2. Replace at nil cost any customer quarantine stock and have part number 31180 returned to CAA.
3. Review CAA DRG on server. Drawing found to be correct dimensionally for the part number 61180, however drawing is still in the CDQ drawing template. Request made to RN to update both server and CAA2020.
4. Decision made by Ross and Lang to introduce Part Number 31180 as a new CDZ9 part number (CDZ9-210). New Part Number entered into MYOB 14/2/20 by LS.
